Dr David Brant

Principal Dental Surgeon

It saddens us to announce the sudden death of David Brant, who passed away on 18th January 2022.

We would like to remember Dave as not just a Dentist or colleague, but a true gentleman and friend. Dave was loved by us all, with his contagious laughter and smile, and he will be sorely missed.

Should you wish to write a few words of remembrance, a book of condolence has been placed in Reception. All cards received will be passed to his wife, who will always be part of our Heatherstone family.

Dr Richard Brookes (formerly Brookes-Butt): Dental Surgeon; BDS (Hons), MFDS RCS Edin; Country of issue: UK; GDC registration number: 191824; Richard graduated in 2010 from Bristol University with Honours and went on to complete a Maxillofacial post at Queen Alexandra Hospital. Since then he has been working in general practice in Wiltshire and Hampshire. He is currently finishing his Masters degree in Advanced General Dental Practice at the University of Birmingham, to ensure he uses the latest high quality techniques and particularly enjoys restorative and preventative dentistry.
Outside of work, Richard enjoys an active life, playing football, running and enjoying time outside with his family and dog.

After graduating from Leeds in 1986, David worked in oral surgery in Leeds, Southampton and N. Wales for 3 years.

He then worked in general dental practice in the New Forest and Winchester when he developed an interest in Endodontics (root canal treatment). After completing his MSc in endodontics he continued in endodontic referral practice in Winchester and Portsmouth before moving to Heatherstone in 2022 where he practices general dentistry and endodontics.

David spends the rest of his week as a clinical teacher, training dentists with King's College London, again focusing on endodontics. Away from dentistry, in his limited spare time, David enjoys hillwalking, camping and visiting his three children who are inconveniently spread between Liverpool and Belfast.

Dr Julia Gill: Dental Surgeon; BDS; GDC registration number: 85977; Julia qualified at the University of Sheffield in 2005 and is joining the Heatherstone Team in March 2022.
Julia is enthusiastic about dentistry and continually strives to perfect her skills, through continued education in restorative and cosmetic techniques. She has also undertaken postgraduate training in dental Implantology, Inman aligner and Smilelign Orthodontics. (Photo coming soon)

Karen, originally from Kent, graduated from Peninsula Dental School in Plymouth. Since graduating Karen completed a post-graduate certificate in primary dental care from the University of Kent, and has attended further courses making her a certified Inman aligner and Clear Smile provider, as well as Invisalign, utilising removable aligners for the straightening of teeth in adults.

Karen relocated to Hampshire to live with her husband, who is also a dentist, and their dog. When she isn't working, she enjoys participating in sports and outdoor activities, and being a "foodie" has a real passion for baking.

Dr Christopher Hill: Dental Surgeon; BDS; Country of issue: UK; GDC registration number: 251571; Chris graduated from Bristol University in 2014 and is joining the Heatherstone Team in May 2022. After qualifying, he returned to Hampshire to complete his foundation training and postgraduate certificate. Chris enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, and is confident in performing more complex cosmetic and restorative treatments. Also, he finds it especially rewarding earning the trust of nervous patients.
In his spare time, Chris likes to keep fit and enjoys exploring the countryside around his home in the Test Valley.

Richard qualified from Guy's Hospital, London in 1983, then spent 18 months as an Oral Surgery House officer at Guy's Hospital then later at The North Hampshire Hospital in Basingstoke.

In 1985 he entered General Dental Practice, and worked as an associate dentist in practices at Basingstoke, Liphook and Haslemere, before joining Heatherstone Dental Practice in April 1991.

In 1995 he became a Partner in the practice.

Richard is married with 3 children. He likes to keep fit, and since 1998, has run in over 25 marathons and can sometimes be seen running in the countryside with his black labrador. Richard is an explorer Scout Leader and has a Mountain Leader qualification, and when not at work is generally found up a mountain somewhere.

Linda Trigell: Practice Manager; DCP; Country of issue: United Kingdom; GDC registration number: 106032; Linda has worked with us for many years as she was our locum nurse. During Covid 19 times, Linda came into Heatherstone to start the practice operating again and she never left!
Linda was soon promoted to Head Nurse and is now our Practice Manager. You will see Linda in surgery nursing when a member of our team is lucky enough to be on holiday or Linda will be tucked away in her office ensuring the smooth running of the practice. Outside of work Linda has a passion for cooking, travelling and reading.
